Financial companies announce merger

It was announced that CKF Bancorp will be merging with Kentucky First Federal Bancorp, or Kentucky First.

The agreement was unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies.

The transaction is valued at nearly eleven million dollars.

Board Chairman Tony Whitaker of Hazard says he believes this combination presents a tremendous opportunity to expand their presence in Kentucky.
