Floods damage Carter County homes

Carter County Emergency Dispatchers tell our sister station heavy rains and flooding overnight have washed away a mobile home and damaged between 10 and 15 other homes near Olive Hill.

Dispatchers say rescue crews were sent to the area along State Highway 1025 about 3 a.m. Med units rescued two adults from the rising water.

Carter County Emergency Manager Tom Thompson say a mobile home was swept between 200 and 500 feet away by raging flood waters.

Dispatchers also tell us several trees are down and many roads impassable due to high water.
