A Floyd County judge announces his retirement.

James R. Allen has served the county for more than twenty years as a district judge and as Commonwealth's attorney.

Allen is known for his low key voice and will enter into full retirement after August.

Former Circuit Judge Danny P. Caudill will fill the vacancy until an appointment can be made to replace Allen.
