MINNIE, Ky. (WYMT) - More than 100 people gathered in Floyd County Saturday to help in the fight breast cancer.
Saturday marks the first ever Floyd County Party In Pink. The event was hosted by Zumba and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. It was held at the Minnie Ball Park in Minnie. The money raised at the event will be used for research into the use of flaxseed for cancer prevention.
"Something as simple as flaxseed could keep a family from having to suffer through what so many others have had to suffer through, it's worth coming out and spending 10 dollars to have a good time like everybody back here is having," said Rachel Little, an organizer of the event.
More than $2,700 were raised at the event. Organizers are still counting the exact total.
