Forest service offers free fishing

WINCHESTER, Ky. (AP) - National forest lands in Kentucky will
offer free fishing and boating on the first weekend in June in an
effort to encourage outdoor recreation on the water.
A statement from the U.S. Forest Service says anglers can fish
without a license and a recreation fee pass won't be required to
use Forest Service boat ramps outside of developed campgrounds at
Cave Run Lake and Laurel River Lake.
In addition, the Daniel Boone National Forest and its partners
will offer several free fishing derbies on June 2.
Locations include Minor E. Clark Fish Hatchery in Rowan County,
Turkey Foot Recreation Area in Jackson County, Little Double Creek
Pond in Clay County, Indian Creek in Menifee County, Barren Fork
Horse Camp in McCreary County and Goodwater Pond in Pulaski County.
