Former Cumberland police officer facing charges

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A former Cumberland police officer is facing theft charges.

The Harlan Daily Enterprise reports officers arrested 22 year old Keith Ray Turner Thursday.

Turner is accused of not returning some police equipment and selling it after leaving the department.

Officers were able to recover two of the items, valued at more than $2,000.

Turner was charged with theft by unlawful taking and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $10,000 full cash bond.
