MARTIN, Ky. (WYMT) - Former City of Martin Police Chief Brian Baldwin died Thursday night.

Coworkers say the 51-year-old never returned to work after getting sick earlier this year.

Before coming to Martin Baldwin worked at the Salyersville Police Department, Magoffin County Sheriffs Office, Salyersville Fire Department and Middle Fork Fire Department.

"He was a real personable kind of guy. Even though he was a supervisor you could always just talk to him just like he was your friend. There's not a day goes by that I don't go in the community that somebody would ask about him," said Martin Police Chief Michael Napier.

Visitation will be Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 11:00 a.m. at Salyersville Funeral Home.

The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m.

Donations can be made to the Officer Brian Dale Baldwin Memorial Fund at the funeral home or at the Martin Police Department.
