LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Former University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball player Michael Porter was back before a Fayette County judge Thursday morning.

Porter pleaded guilty to two charges of sexual abuse involving an underage girl in May. He was expected to be sentenced last month but in an unusual move the defense asked the judge to recuse himself, and Judge Ishmael agreed.

Thursday Porter was back in court, this time before Judge Scorsone. Porter spoke before sentencing, apologizing for his actions. Judge Scorsone then sentenced Porter to two years in prison. The defense attorney asked for probation, but the judge denied the request.
