PRESTONSBURG, Ky (WYMT) - A former UK basketball player and Betsy Layne star in the early 1970's has died.

"Big" Dan Hall died Wednesday in Floyd County.

In 2010, we talked to him about playing against UCLA in the 1975 NCAA Championship, which was legendary coach John Wooden's last game.

“It was a highlight to play in the finals being from eastern Kentucky. I scored in the game, played approximately 8-10 minutes and being from eastern Kentucky and being a part of that program was great,” Hall said in a 2010 interview.

Hall later transferred from UK to Marshall University.

Dan hall was 56.
