Somerset, Ky. (WYMT) - A Pulaski County jury was scheduled to hear the allegations against Christy Wilson…the 34 year old mother of 3….in October.
But that won’t likely happen. Wilson pleaded guilty to 3rd degree rape.
“What did you do that makes you guilty of this offense?” Judge David Tapp asked Wilson during the court hearing Friday morning.
“I had sexual relations with a minor,” Wilson said in admitting to the crime.
Court records show that the relationship started when the boy was 14 in 2009..and it lasted 3 years until the victims’ family found out about it and contacted Kentucky State police.
“He (the victim) was a student at Southern Middle School. And during the time he was a student, she was a teacher’s aide,” said Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jeremy Bartley.
Wilson is currently out of jail on house arrest but prosecutors want the judge to give her a prison sentence when she’s back in court November 16th.
“My recommendation is 18 months imprisonment. We think probation should not be granted. She’s not eligible and second, she doesn’t deserve to be on probation,” said Bartley.
“(At that time) we’ll make a claim for probation. See if we can keep her out of jail. We either can or can’t,” said Wilson’s attorney, Mark Stanziano.
Wilson’s attorney says Wilson admits she forgot about the rules of propriety but says more will be said about her actions during her sentencing in November.
