The trial is underway for the former Chairman of the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center Board.

John Harmon is charged with felony theft.

He is accused of using taxpayer dollars for unauthorized trips and hotel rooms and getting reimbursed for trips from Martin County to the jail in Johnson County when he should not have been reimbursed.

State police investigators and several members of the jail staff testified on Tuesday.

The trial continues Wednesday.
