WYMT Severe Weather Alert

We're tracking the possibility of more storms rolling through today, with some of them being strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire area under a slight risk for severe weather through this evening. The main threats at this point look to be wind and hail. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as needed.

Former mayor dies at 82

Former Middlesboro Mayor and long time businessman Troy Lee Welch passed away on Saturday.

Welch was eighty-two years old.

Services will be held Tuesday at 8 pm at First Baptist Church, as well as Wednesday at 11 am at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.
