Former sheriff pleads guilty to vote buying charges

A former Breathitt County sheriff pleaded guilty to vote buying charges Wednesday morning.

John L. Turner was re-arraigned in Lexington Federal Court.

Turner admitted to be involved in a scheme with several other people to buy votes in the April and May of 2010.

He is facing a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Turner was released on his previous bond conditions until sentencing in September of this year.
