Four appear in court to appeal vote buying conviction

Knott County Judge Executive Randy Thompson and three others were in court earlier Friday.

The four are appealing a 2008 vote buying conviction.

Along with John Mac Combs, Phillip Champion, and Ronnie Adams Thompson allegedly allowed county blacktop and gravel be applied to private drives in exchange for votes leading up to the 2006 general election.

An attorney for Thompson said a ruling could take between two weeks to three months.
