Flooding is a major concern today across Eastern Kentucky as rivers continue to rise after the heavy rain and snow melt of the last few days. Now as the rain has transitioned to sleet and snow roads will become treacherous and ice covered. Flood Warnings and Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for most of the day. WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - The interstate was shut down for at least an hour Sunday afternoon, due to a crash.
It happened around 4 p.m. near exit 25 on I-75, in the southbound lanes. We're not told what caused the crash. The Whitley County Sheriff tells us four cars were involved.
Police tell us three adults and a juvenile are injured. At least two people were airlifted to the hospital.
Traffic on both northbound and southbound I-75 is moving smoothly.
