Four arrested on drug charges

Four people in Pike County are behind bars Friday night on drug charges, and it appears to be a family affair.

Officials in Pike County say they had reason to believe that Michael O. Bartley was selling drugs.

Bartley was on parole when police went to investigate his home in Marrowbone.

"We had some information what he was doing and probation/parole was kind enough to assist us," said Pike County Sheriff Charles "Fuzzy" Keesee.

When police got to his home, they found what appeared to be a drug operation.

They say they found nearly $5,000 hidden behind the washing machine, along with various kinds of pills, syringes, and cocaine.

"They had quite an operation there," said Sheriff Keesee.

Police say they went to the house to investigate Bartley and ended up finding three other people who were also allegedly involved.

"Information I have from my officers is that several in the family were involved in the operation," said Sheriff Keesee.

Bartley's mother Givelene Bartley, his sister Whitney Bartley, and her boyfriend Christopher Adkins were also arrested.

The sheriff says he hopes arrests like these will help get rid of drug dealers in the area.

All four suspects are charged with drug trafficking, and police are still investigating where they got the drugs they were allegedly selling.
