Friends and family mourn death of Clay County man

On Tuesday, friends and family of 51 year old Victor Gilbert packed the Britton Funeral Home in Manchester to pay their last respects.

Neighbors say Gilbert was a staple in Manchester, where he was known for his big smile and helping hand.

Folks from all backgrounds spent their Tuesday reflecting on a lifetime of memories.

Gilbert's cousin Robert Birch says that Victor leaves behind "a great spririt and friends from all walks of life."

During this difficult time, community members say they will put their heavy hearts in God's hands.

While Victor's presence will be missed, folks know that he will continue to live on in them and the city of Manchester .
