Police have identified the man's body found in Wolfe County lake as 31 year old Robert Tolson Junior.

They are investigating it as a drowning, but friends of Tolson say there's more to the story.

They believe he was murdered.

Robert Tolson had been missing for two days, but on Wednesday night, Tolson's body was found in Wolfe County's Red Pay Lake.

Friends of Tolson say he jumped into the lake on Monday night.

They believe he was shot and killed by the neighbors after he jumped in.

Nannie Campbell was with Tolson minutes before he allegedly jumped into the lake and drowned.

But Campbell says a letter she found on her kitchen table late Monday night made her believe he was still alive.

The letter read, "Granny, I got shot in the arm, I think I'm okay, I love you."

Now, Campbell is searching for answers for who and why someone wrote her that letter.

The Wolfe County Coroner says an autopsy was performed on tolson Thursday morning to determine the cause of death.
