BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Friends and family gathered at the funeral of a Laurel County stabbing victim.

A slide show of pictures shows a loving family and fun memories, as friends and family of Pamela Sue Bobbitt came to pay their respects.

The funeral was held at the Barbourville Funeral Home Sunday, October 28th.

The funeral director and friend of the family said the news of Bobbitt’s death was very upsetting.

“To be truthful I cried my heart went out to them. Like I said, it's a horrible incident and something that no woman should have to go through, said Funeral Director Larry Hickerson.

Police believe Bobbitt was violently murdered in front of her children by her live-in boyfriend Sean Messer.

Messer has since pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Friends say the situation makes things very difficult.

“This makes it exceptionally hard because how do you comfort someone that's lost a child, it's just not supposed to be,” said Hickerson.

Family members say they just want to see justice for what happened to their loved one.

“It was the worst I've ever seen and I think something needs to be done to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else,” said Hickerson.

Messer is expected to be in court Tuesday the 30th for preliminary hearings.
