Get ready for bitter cold temperatures

Clear skies tonight are bringing dangerously low temperatures to the region, yet people are still out and about.

The snow came Wednesday night...

"Every week it seems like we're getting snow and it makes it hard to get out and do anything especially when you have classes and work," said Kevin Horn, who was out in the cold today.

And is almost completely melted and gone, but the single digit temperatures are still lingering.

"i've been in Florida for 20 years, just got back 2 years ago, and this is the worse I've seen it. Ever. And it's freezing," said Kelly Little, who was filling up on gas.

Yet people are still managing to get around, pumping gas and running errands. Most say they just make it quick and dress accordingly.

"I wear this because it's kind of cold out. This keeps me pretty warm and I love wearing sweat pants in the winter time," said Michael Lucas, who was shopping in the cold.

"It's just my hunting jacket. It's the warmest thing I had this morning to grab quickly so that's the reason I wore it," said Clyde Porter, who was on his way home from work.

No matter what brings people out in the cold, most say they are ready for sunnier days.

"It's bitter cold. It's been that way too long. I'm ready for spring," Porter said.

"In the Summer and Spring, I can plant my garden. That'll definitely be a big relief," Horn said.

Most places in the mountains will see single digit temperatures overnight.
