A nine year old girl is recovering after stepping on a needle at the Carr Creek Lake Beach area this weekend in Knott County.
Kentucky Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker tells us the beach was shut down Saturday night and searched thoroughly for any other needles.
The needle was tested and the results showed no materials on the needle.
The girl is on antibiotics and is expected to be okay.
Park officials say this is the first time anything like this has ever happened at the lake.
