Golfers raise money for autism center

Golfers from all across Kentucky hit the links Friday to raise money for the Highlands Center for Autism in Floyd County.

Golfers at Stonecrest included Kentucky Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart and Former Basketball Player Kenny "Sky" Walker.

The money raised will go towards scholarships for students.

"Raising money to fight autism and support the school that does a great job of helping young people go through that, it's a wonderful cause and our university wants to be supportive of that," Barnhart said.

"I think people throughout the state and maybe the country, I think when they can see someone like myself involved, it will bring more attention and we can get more help, and more research to help deal with these kids with this problem," Walker said.

Speaker of the House Greg Stumbo and his wife, Mary Karen, organized the event.
