Many areas are still dealing with flooding, even as snow and sleet start to replace the rain. Some of the local major rivers are above flood stage and still rising. The good news is, many of the others have crested and will start to fall. The snow and sleet will continue through much of the day, before wrapping up tonight. Initial projections were that the cuts would be in the 7 to 9
Budget cuts have been common over the past four years in
Kentucky because of the lingering economic recession that is blamed for $1 billion in revenue shortfalls since Beshear initially took
office in late 2007. Some agencies already have had to cut their
spending 25 to 30 percent.
