FRANKFORT, Ky (WYMT) - Governor Steve Beshear announced via twitter on Monday that the state will raise the dropout age to 18 in all districts.
"It’s official: 96 school districts have adopted the #Graduation Bill! The age 18 policy will now be implemented statewide. #Blitzto96 #SB97"
It took just two weeks for the state to get the minimum of 96 required districts to implement the policy statewide.
Beshear says that all Kentucky school districts will need to implement the policy by no later than the 2017-18 school year.
