Governor Beshear appoints Knott Co. Judge-Executive

UPDATE: 3/29/13
HINDMAN, Ky (WYMT) - Weinberg says his first order of business will be getting the county's finances in order.

Fourth district magistrate, Calvin Waddles, says the new judge executive needs to re-examine all of the county services.

"Every office or department in this county needs an audit. They need to go in and basically just rework every department to make it run more efficient," Waddles said.

Weinberg will be sworn in on Monday and says he appreciates everyone's support.
HINDMAN, Ky (WYMT) - Governor Steve Beshear has appointed Zach Weinberg as Knott County Judge-Executive.

Former Judge-Executive Randy Thompson went to prison last year for a federal vote buying conviction.

Earlier this month, a judge ordered Thompson removed from office.

Magistrate Jamie Mosley had been filling in since then.

Weinberg will serve out the rest of Thompson's term that's set to end in 2014.
