FRANKFORT, Ky (WYMT) - Nearly three months after a new state law targeting prescription drug abuse went into effect; the governor says he's seeing results.
Governor Beshear says since the "Pill Mill Bill" became law in July, ten pain management clinics have closed and the amount of pain medicine prescribed has dropped statewide.
The new law requires doctors to use the state's prescription monitor system called Kentucky All Schedule Prescription Electronic Reporting or "KASPER"... to look over the drug histories of their patients.
