The governor was back in storm damaged communities Wednesday.

Governor Steve Beshear visited many hard hit areas including the town of West Liberty, which took a direct hit from an EF 3 tornado.

While the devastation is still evident, there are signs of rebuilding and life.

Power crews have worked non-stop and power should be on in the next day or two.

Business owners on Main Street are cleaning out and making plans for the future.

Local officials and citizens got a little boost of support from Governor Steve Beshear as he visited the downtown area.

A walk down main street in downtown West Liberty and you can see the devastation, but more importantly you can see signs of life.

Governor Beshear promised Morgan County and all the other areas hit by a tornado that he would do everything he can to help them.

Federal individual grants have already been issued to 7 counties including Morgan County and Governor Beshear says more counties will be added to that list.

He says despite tough financial times Kentucky will pull through and there will be a new West Liberty.

FEMA officials say that those in Morgan County and the other counties already approved can start applying for FEMA assistance at 1-800-621-FEMA.
