FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear is set to deliver the
annual state of the commonwealth speech early next month.
Spokeswoman Kerri Richardson said the governor is scheduled to
address a joint session of the General Assembly on the evening of
Jan. 4.
That will be the second day of the legislative session.
Beshear will use the speech to lay out his agenda for the
session. He has already promoted tax reform and expanded gambling as two of his top priorities. The governor talked about those two issues in his inaugural address on Tuesday, saying they are needed to build a foundation for a better future.
