Rounds of heavy rain will begin to move into the area later tonight, leading to the increased potential for flooding. A Flood Watch is in effect for the entire area from now through Thursday and a Winter Storm Warning goes into effect tomorrow. As we head into Wednesday, temperatures will drop and transition our rain to sleet and eventually to snow. Most of the area could see several inches of snow and sleet before it's all said and done. Keep it locked right here for updates.
CHICAGO (AP) - When Emily Jordan was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2010, it could hardly have come at a worse time for the then 29-year-old and her husband.
Just before she was to undergo a radical hysterectomy, she was told she was pregnant. The couple made the excruciating decision to go ahead with the surgery even though it seemed to mean they could never have their own children.
But now, more than two years later, Emily and Mike Jordan have welcome a child - just not the way most people would imagine.
Cindy Reutzel, Emily's 53-year-old mother, underwent an in-vitro procedure that implanted an embryo made from Emily's egg and Mike's sperm.
Last week Reutzel gave birth to her own granddaughter.
