Group calling Harlan County attack a hate crime

A lesbian couple in Harlan County say they were attacked and beaten because of their sexual orientation.

The Kentucky Equality Federation is requesting that the federal government pursue the case as a hate crime.

Misty Turner and Brandy Standifer claim they were attacked at a fireworks show in Pathfork on the Fourth of July.

Turner says she can identify three of the dozen or more people allegedly involved in the attack.
