Group helps inmate parents give kids a good Christmas

Employees with Lighthouse Mission in Pineville want to make sure everyone has a good christmas, including children that have parents behind bars.

Dozens of toys were donated to the Bell County Detention Center.

Parents that are inmates will give these toys to their children.

Officials say it's a great way to make sure these children do not go without.

"Even though they're inmates in jail, their kids don't understand. Their kids want Christmas with their parents and through they don't have it at home maybe we can bring hope when they come visit them to give them a gift." Says Sharon Teaney with the Lighthouse Mission.

Officials have only done this for a few years with the sheriff's department.

They say this brings a positive influence to families, showing that someone cares.
