Half of Kentucky's kindergarteners not ready for school

Frankfort, Kentucky - Some Kentucky kindergartners are not prepared to master essential skills in school.

A new report shows half of those children who started in the Fall of 2013 were not ready.

Kindergarteners were given a test which includes counting to 30 and saying the alphabet.

Governor Steve Beshear says the new report is disappointing, but not surprising.
