Harlan County man accused of stuffing child in freezer will learn sentence next month

Harlan County, Kentucky - Next month, A Harlan County man accused of stuffing a child in a freezer will learn how long he served behind bars.

Randy Hammons pleaded guilty to assault, criminal abuse, and unlawful imprisonment charges on Thursday.

Police say Hammons beat the child and then stuffed him in a small freezer because the child would not stop crying.

He is expected to serve 10 years behind bars, sentencing is set for March 6th.

The child's grandmother, 54 year old Connie Jenkins, also faces charges because officials say she did nothing to stop Hammons.

Sentencing for Jenkins is set for February 20th.
