Harlan County man facing manslaughter charges

A Harlan County man is arrested following a car wreck that killed a man nearly six months ago.

Garrell Freeman is facing a manslaughter charge for a collision that happened on Highway 119 in the Page community of Bell County in July.

Police say Freeman was traveling southbound when he crossed the center line and hit a truck driven by chester Miracle, of Calvin.

Miracle later died from his injures.

While it took several months to get to this point in the investigation, police believe Freeman should be held responsible.

"On any investigation especially a serious incident involving the death of an individual we want to take all steps to make sure we've covered every base possible." Says P.J. Burnett with Kentucky State Police.

Freeman has since posted bond and is no longer in the Bell County detention center.
