One area restaurant gave back to the community thursday while serving its signature ice cream.
The Dairy Queen in Hazard joined hundreds of DQs around the country in celebrating Miracle Treat Day.
All of the proceeds from blizzard sales at the Hazard DQ will go to Kentucky Children's Hospital.
"It's very important because Kentucky Children's Hospital gives the best pediatric care to children in our community and beyond," said Trish Eldridge, a shift manager at the Hazard DQ. "So it's our way of giving back to them."
last year, dairy queen locations across the u-s and canada raised more than $5 million on Miracle Treat Day.
