"Healing Hazard" crowd prays for change

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Drug addiction continues to be a problem throughout Eastern Kentucky, but people in Hazard prayed for a solution at “Healing Hazard” Saturday night.

The event was held at the Perry County Public Library.

Dozens of people came together to share personal testimonies of their fight against drugs.

The organizer, a Hazard police officer, says he wants others to find freedom from addiction.

“I've arrested people for several years, and it's not helping, and I've seen people set free from the bonds of drug addiction totally by Jesus Christ. We're just going to show the proof of that tonight,” said Organizer, Joseph Engle.

Operation UNITE officials and leaders with the Kentucky rehab program "Chad’s hope" were there in support.
