Heartbreaking 9-11 call from deadly fire released

WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Officials have released the heartbreaking 9-11 call made by the only survivor of a deadly home fire in Wayne County.

"Wayne, County 9-11, what is your emergency?"

"Our house is on fire!" The call outlines how the young girl, who officials identify as Melvina Walker's granddaughter, tried frantically to get her family out of the burning home.

The dispatcher asking the young girl if everyone was out of the house. The caller responding, "no, my grandma, my brother and her husband are in there! Please hurry!

We're told by police that four people were inside the Wayne County home when it caught fire on Friday. Crews rushed to the scene while those nearby tried to help. We're told that the young girl was rescued from the fire by a Good Samaritan. Her grandmother, Melvina Walker, her husband, Doug Walker and Melvina's grandson, Jamie Elliott all died in the fire.

The viewing and funeral for Melvina and her grandson,Jamie, has been scheduled for Wednesday at 2:00 PM.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
