Kentucky Teleworks is an initiative to bring stay at home jobs like customer service, I-T, data entry and sales to Eastern Kentucky.

"These are not staying home stuffing envelopes that you see advertised in the classified sections of your local newspaper. these are real, legitimate remote work job opportunities with companies that hire hundreds of these type of employees every day," said Michael Cornett, Director of Agency Expansion and Public Relations for Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program

Kentucky Teleworks is partnered with companies like T-Mobile, Amazon, and J.P. Morgan and Chase.

The Kentucky Teleworks Hub is going to allow qualified people to work jobs that they can not afford the equipment for.

The hub in hazard opens Monday and a job screening will kick off its beginning. The screening lasts until Wednesday. The hub is at the Career Center Perry County JobSight at 412 Fort Campbell Road in Hazard. The screening starts at 9 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. You must bring your driver's license and social security card. You are encouraged to bring a resume.

This hub is the first of its kind. People can bring resumes to prospective employers.

"So they may come in and not only get hired during our 3 day screening but they may come out working at the hub for as long as they need to. It's a great opportunity for people to say there are not jobs available, there are jobs available you just may have to change in your mind what the definition of that job is." Cornett said.

Twenty-two fully-equipped offices will be set up at the hub.
