High school basketball player is arrested on drug charges

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - A high school girls basketball star in the 14th region has been arrested on drug charges.

The Hazard Herald reports 18-year old Kayla Rankin is accused of selling marijuana to another student at Perry County Central High School.

The paper reports the incident was caught on video.

Rankin is charged with trafficking in less than eight ounces of marijuana, which is a misdemeanor.

She's scheduled to be arraigned February 4th.
