Rounds of heavy rain will begin to move into the area later tonight, leading to the increased potential for flooding. A Flood Watch is in effect for the entire area from now through Thursday and a Winter Storm Warning goes into effect tomorrow. As we head into Wednesday, temperatures will drop and transition our rain to sleet and eventually to snow. Most of the area could see several inches of snow and sleet before it's all said and done. Police say a man who did not pay for gas led them on a high speed chase in Bell County.
It happened on New Year's Eve.
The chase began after a trooper saw someone speeding after not paying for gas at the BP Kwik Mart in Coldiron.
The pursuit, which involved several officers, ended 17 miles later at a roadblock.
39-year old Samuel Crider of Wallins was arrested and faces several charges.
Police say he will undergo a mental evaluation.
