High speed chase following gas drive-off

Police say a man who did not pay for gas led them on a high speed chase in Bell County.

It happened on New Year's Eve.

The chase began after a trooper saw someone speeding after not paying for gas at the BP Kwik Mart in Coldiron.

The pursuit, which involved several officers, ended 17 miles later at a roadblock.

39-year old Samuel Crider of Wallins was arrested and faces several charges.

Police say he will undergo a mental evaluation.
