HINDMAN, Ky (WYMT) - Dozens of families in Knott County received food boxes Thursday.
First Baptist Church Hindman gave away the boxes full of staple food items like canned vegetables, cake mixes, and pastas.
Each family also got a $10 gift card to the local grocery store to buy a meat for the holidays.
"It just brings a sense of fulfillment in your own heart because it just takes away the selfishness that is a part of the Christmas season and people just wanting to get, get, get, and this is a great way to give," said pastor Mike Caudill.
The church gives away the food boxes every year at Christmas and Thanksgiving.
