WYMT Severe Weather Alert

Flood Warning continues for Perry and Leslie County until 7am. Heavy rain will continue to move through overnight, keeping the threat for flooding alive in some areas. If you live in a flood prone area, be ready to move to higher ground and do not attempt to cross flooded roadways.

Historic refinery will be operating again soon

SOMERSET, Ky. (WYMT) - It looks like a historic Kentucky refinery will soon be operating again.

A spokesperson for the Continental Refining Company, which used to be the Somerset Refinery says it should be up and running by mid-December.

The Commonwealth Journal reports between 40 to 50 job positions will be filled when the refinery reaches full production.
