It is the official kick off for the holiday travel season.

Police are keeping an eye out for travelers that may not be following the rules.

All day on Wednesday Interstate 75 was packed full of drivers traveling for the holiday.

Drivers say prices at the pump need to go down but they are not high enough to keep them from travelling.

Even though gas prices are higher now than they were this time last year overall gas prices are falling which means more people are traveling.

With extra cars on the road, police were out Wednesday making sure people are buckled up, not speeding, and above all driving safely.

Police just want everyone to arrive at their destination safely.
