FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Legislation that would reform the pension system for state and local government retirees in Kentucky is expected to come up for another vote on Tuesday.

The House State Government Committee has the issue on the agenda for a noon EST meeting.

The proposal is expected to undergo an overhaul in the House committee where a Democratic-majority is expected to remove a proposal that would create a 401(k)-like hybrid retirement plan for new employees.

The Senate had approved the measure earlier this month.

The proposal calls for the state to begin paying its full contribution to the pension system beginning next fiscal year. That would require more than $100 million in additional state funding.
