HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - With temperatures expected to plunge into the low to mid 30's Monday morning, frost could threaten your plants.
A garden specialist at Lowe's Home Improvement in Hazard, Ryan Brewer, says there are steps that can be taken to avoid this. He says to make sure you know the weather report ahead of time. You can bring any plant inside for up to a night to protect it from the elements, and you should get a frost cloth to cover exposed plants during cold weather.
"Especially here, the weather is, you just never know when we might get a cold night. It just takes one night to do the damage to the plants," Brewer said.
Brewer also says you should use cloth or felt coverings, and to avoid using plastic.
