Hundreds celebrate Mother's Day at Jenny Wiley State Park

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Hundreds from across the region celebrated Mother's Day at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in Prestonsburg.

The park served a special buffet for the day. Park officials say they do this for all holidays but Mothers Day brings the largest crowd to the park.

Officials say not only does the food draw people to the park but also the scenery they can enjoy while celebrating their mothers.

Park Manager Julian Slone says, "As we know in Eastern Kentucky a sense of family is better here than anywhere else in the United States that I have been. It is really good to see people come together, who some probably haven't gotten together since Christmas, that will come in and spend the day with us which makes us feel great."

Park officials say they expect to have served one thousand guests at the park by the end of the day.
