Hundreds continue to remember 9-11

Posted: Mon 7:04 PM, Sep 12, 2011

Hundreds of people across Kentucky continued marking the tenth anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks.

Dozens of people in the Big Sandy Region held memorials on Big Sandy Community and Technical College campuses in Pikeville, Prestonsburg, and Paintsville.

People prayed for the victims families and the nation.

Local police and firefighters discussed how the events changed eastern Kentucky.

BSCTC Professor Charles Moore said he organized the Pikeville ceremony for students, "to help them keep knowing, keep remembering and keep thanking our firefighters and police departments for all that they do, just to keep them abreast of what's going on in this nation."

The ceremonies also paid tribute to the Constitution in honor of "Constitution Day"
