The 27th Annual Big Sandy Senior Games were held Friday at Jenny Wiley State Park.

Nearly 380 seniors from all over the Big Sandy area participated in Friday's games which included lawn bowling, shuffle board, basketball, corn hole, and horseshoes.

Those involved say it is a great way for seniors in the area to get out and stay active while having a little fun, but they say the competition can be fierce!

"They are so competitive, and they make sure our volunteers are right and get those scores right because if you don't that means they may not place for a medal and that could be war," laughed Misty Pugh with the Big Sandy Area Development District.

The awards ceremony for the games is May 31.

We will have a highlight special from the games that will air on WYMT June 15 at 7 p.m. and June 16 at noon.
