Inmate faces more charges

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - A Floyd County inmate faces additional charges after allegedly assaulting a jail employee.

The Floyd County Times reports Jeremy Ison allegedly bit guard Parker Derossett at the jail.

It all happened after Derossett opened the cell door to give Ison his tray of food.

Ison allegedly ran towards the guard and tried to spit on him.

Ison then allegedly bit Derossett when being restrained.

He now faces a charge of third degree assault punishable by up to five years in prison, if convicted.

Jeremy Ison was in jail for allegedly driving under the influence.
